2006 American Community Survey - New JerseyThe American Community Survey is a new nationwide survey designed to provide communities a fresh look at how they are changing. It will replace the long form in future censuses and is a critical element in the Census Bureau's re engineered 2010 census plan.
On Tuesday, September 23, 2008, the U.S. Census Bureau released the 2007 American Community Survey (ACS) data on social and demographic characteristics for the nation, all 50 states and the District of Columbia, every congressional district and all counties and places with populations of 65,000 or more. The release marks the second time that ACS data will be available for areas with populations of less than 250,000. It is part of the full implementation of the survey, which will provide updated data on an annual basis for all levels of geography (including census tracts and block groups) by 2010.
An online "Guide to the 2006 ACS Data Products" is available to aid data users. . Included in the Guide are a list of data products, geographical areas for which data are available and step-by-step instructions for accessing the data on the Census Bureau's American FactFinder (AFF).
