Trenton -- Commissioner Albert G. Kroll announces the release of the 2004 edition of the New Jersey Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), a publication produced by the Center for Occupational Employment Information (COEI).
This handbook provides an overview of the New Jersey labor market, including detailed information on wages and career outlook, for over 200 of the largest and fastest growing occupations in the state. Each occupational description presents information on the type of work performed, entry-level job tasks, skills and knowledge required to perform the job, working conditions, educational and licensing requirements, similar jobs and sources of additional information.
The OOH is useful as a tool for anyone seeking current information on the makeup of the labor market in the State. It can help job training and educational program planners select the appropriate training programs to offer individuals or enable individuals investigate careers that will further their education or employment. The information is geared to the New Jersey labor market. For occupations where employers usually search for applicants on a multi-state level, national and regional data are also presented.
